Positions
A position is one block’s spot in the world.
| Node | Gives |
|---|---|
| Player position | the block the player stands in |
| Offset position | a position moved along X, Y and Z. Y is up. |
| Looked-at block | Block: the block the player looks at, up to Distance away. In front: the space in front of the face they look at. |
Looking at nothing, Looked-at block gives the spot at Distance.
Teleport and Spawn mob
Where the position has no room, the entity goes a block lower or higher. Teleport leaves it in place where neither has room.
For a teleport staff, wire Looked-at block’s In front, not its Block, so the player lands beside the face, not inside the block.
Set spawn point
The player respawns at the position after dying, in the world they are in when it runs, without a bed. For a spawn where a player first joined, use When player joins with First join, and wire Player position into it.
Break block
Area breaks one block, a square of 3x3 or 5x5 that faces the way the breaker looks, or Connected: the block and every block of the same kind touching it, diagonals too, up to Up to blocks. Connected makes a tree feller or vein miner.
Unbreakable blocks such as bedrock stay. A player breaker drops items only with a tool that can harvest the block.
For a hammer, run it from When block is broken listing #minecraft:mineable/pickaxe, check Is holding for the tool, and set Area to 3x3. The broken block itself is left to the event.
Open or close
Opens, closes or toggles the door, trapdoor or fence gate at the position. A door opens both halves. Other blocks stay as they are.
When block is right-clicked cancels the click, so a door it lists won’t open by hand. For a key door, list the door, check Is holding for the key, then Open or close with Toggle.
Redstone power
The power reaching the position, from 0 for none to 15 beside a lever, a block of redstone or a powered wire leading in. Compare it above 0 to act when a block is powered. On Bedrock Edition it reads the block and the six beside it.
Light level
The light at the position, from 0 in the dark to 15 under open sky. A torch gives 14, one less each block away. From Sky and blocks reads the brighter of the two; From Sky leaves out torches and other lights. Sky light stays at 15 outdoors at night, so use World is day to tell night from day.
Biome is
True when the position is in one of the Biomes: one biome tag such as #minecraft:is_forest, or biome ids such as desert, badlands. On Bedrock Edition a tag reads as the biome kind, so #minecraft:is_forest is any forest.
Distance
Distance gives how many blocks apart From and To are, in a straight line from block corner to block corner. From is the event’s position when unwired. Compare it to act within a range, such as a beacon that heals players within 10 blocks.
Block is
True when the block at the position, or one within Within blocks of it, is one of the Blocks. Within 0 checks the block itself. Keep it small.
For a block that buffs players near it: Every N ticks, then If on Block is with the player’s position, then the step.
